Union minister Mahendra Nath Pandey today launched a pilot programme for improving Science and Mathematics learning among students in Upper Primary classes in government Schools of Varanasi and Mirzapur divisions.
A government statement said the programme has been undertaken by NCERT on the directions of Union HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar and MoS, HRD, Mahendra Nath Pandey.
Under the pilot programme, 88 schools which is one school from each of the blocks of Varanasi and Mirzapur, would be covered, the release states.
In the research-cum-training programme, difficulties faced by students inunderstanding concepts of Science and Mathematics and also hurdles faced by teacherswill be addressed through a study, it added.
Basedon the study, an intervention framework would be prepared and periodically interventions would be provided at school level to ensure improvement in learning outcome, the release said.
