Union HRD Minister Pallam Raju today called on the youth to shoulder greater social responsibility and endeavour to use means of communication to facilitate social harmony.
"Young people can contribute in a big way towards helping people through use of technology," Raju said while addressing the 62nd Annual Convocation of Panjab University here.
Preneet Kaur, Minister of State for External Affairs was also present on the occasion as the guest of honour.

He stressed upon the importance of teaching as a suitable career for some of country's best and brightest students.
"Our country today needs teachers in universities to inform, guide, mobilise and inspire us, and it is a sincere hope that more young people will consciously choose teaching as a career which enables society to make advances in its consciousness and to become more enlightened," Raju said.
Vice Chancellor of Panjab University Arun K Grover said a corporate-academia partnership was under way in the University with the help of a grant of Rs one crore from the MPLADS funds of Pawan Kumar Bansal, local MP and Union Railways Minister.
A total number of 704 students received their degrees at the convocation.
The programme ended with the presentation of medals, prizes and merit certificates and vote of thanks by the Vice Chancellor.
