HRTC to release DA, pension arrears, benefiting 4000 employees

Himachal Transport Minister G S Bali today announced release of arrears of pensioners and payment of 6 per cent dearness allowancebenefitting about 4,000 employees of Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC).

The state government has released Rs 25 crore to HRTC and payment of arrears of pension would be paid in two instalments to pensioners and arrears of six per cent dearness allowance released from July 1, 2015 would released to employees, he told media persons after meeting of Board of Directors of HRTC.

The minister said HRTC has posted a gross revenue of Rs 598 crore for 2015-16, which is Rs 27 crore higher than revenue of Rs 571 crore earned last year.
 

The gross revenue of the corporation from January 1, 2016 to May 12, 2016 was Rs 177 crore which reflectsa healthy trend ,he said adding that there is alsoconsiderable improvement in the per litre kilometre average which has improved to 3.69 per Km, resulting in saving of fuel worth Rs 3 crore.

Bali said that the HRTC planned toexpand the taxi service in restrictedandsealed roads in Shimla town and also introduce taxi services in other towns also to facilitate the commuters, especially the women, senior citizens and handicapped persons.

Bali informed that 15 new volvo buses will be inducted in the HRTC fleet even as Volvo service for half a dozen new routes including Jawalji -Delhi and Chintpurni -Delhi and proposals are under consideration to start Rampur -Delhi , Palampur- Chandigarh ,Manali -Haridwar, and Manali -Jaipur and Manali - Amritsar Volvo bus services.

The HRTC has decided to display advertisements on 1391 buses for which a firm Proactive for dimpling advertisements at a fixed rate of Rs 350 per bus .

This will generate a revenue of Rs 58.42 crores per annum.

Under kith and kin scheme, HRTC has provided jobs to 156 persons, beside regularising services of 492 employees on the lines of the scheme introduced by the state government for daily wagers and contractual employees.

He said the government was in the process of acquiring 25 electric buses as an alternate green transport soon to be made operational in the state.
