Haryana Congress Legislature Party today passed a resolution condemning the loss of life and property during pro-quota agitation by the Jats and said the BJP government "failed" in containing the violence even as it demanded a probe by a sitting apex court judge.
In an unanimous resolution, it also condemned attempts to blame Congress Party and former chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda for the violence.
Evidence shows that BJP ministers, MPs, and MLAs, alongwith ally INLD, provoked the violence and the government remained a mute spectator, Hooda alleged.

He charged that the Chief Minister, Finance Minister Capt Abhimanyu, Minister OP Dhankhar and MP Raj Kumar Saini are the "real perpetrators" of violence and they did so for the "sake of political gain".
They are promoting casteism at the cost of brotherhood in the state, he said.
As a matter of fact the position of the BJP government before and during the violence clearly shows its total failure, he said.
The BJP ministers gave contradictory statements and nobody followed the "Rajdharam", he said.
The people of Haryana want to know why such large-scale violence was allowed to occur even in the presence of army, para military, and the police, the resolution asked.
The truth can only come out if the matter got inquired into by a sitting Supreme Court judge and not by any other ordinary commission, the resolution said.
"Such a Commission can also look into the role of the BJP government in spreading the violence," Hooda said.
A purported clip showing BJP MLA from Rewari Randhir Kapriwas administering a divisive pledge to a group clearly shows the involvement of the government, Hooda alleged.
The CLP also condemned the suspension of three Congress MLAs "against" rules.
"If the government has any proof the same should be published otherwise it should stop levelling false and irresponsible allegations and the Congress MLAs should be allowed to attend the session so that they are able to reveal the conspiracy hatched by BJP and INLD to spread violence," he said.
"The fight for the truth, which has not been allowed in the House, will now be fought outside and by going among the public," he added.
The BJP government has totally failed on the important issues like SYL but the CLP reiterates its commitment to it, Hooda said.
