Haryana Finance Minister Capt.
Abhimanyu today alleged that the violence that broke out in the state during the 2016 Jat agitation was the result of a conspiracy hatched by those close to former CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda.
Abhimanyu cited a CBI charge sheet filed in the case of violence, arson and loot that took place during the Jat reservation agitation in February 2016 as the basis of the allegations.
He told reporters here that the charge sheet filed earlier "has revealed startling facts".
"It says some people even tried to block the investigations," the finance minister alleged.
He said the CBI charge sheet revealed that the violence that rocked the state in February 2016, leaving over 30 dead and scores injured, was planned "and was a conspiracy".
Abhimanyu alleged that the violence took place under a deep-rooted conspiracy and those close to Hooda were among the ones behind the act that also led to the burning down the finance minister's house in Rohtak.
Reacting to the allegations levelled by Abhimanyu, former Hooda said, "To this, I will again reiterate and only say that God forgive them for they don't know what they are saying and what they are doing.
