Haryana government today announced facilities of travelling free of cost in Haryana Roadways buses alongside availing 75 per cent rebate in fare in Volvos to the persons who suffered during the emergency period.
The facilities will come into effect from tomorrow on the eve of 146th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
While stating this here today, a spokesman of the state Transport Department said that the facility would be allowed on the basis of I-Cards that have been issued by the respective district administration.

He said that one attendant will also be allowed to travel free alongwith the widow or widower who suffered during the period of emergency, he said.
The attendant alone would not be entitled to travel free in the buses of Haryana Roadways.
He said that in case of Volvo buses, 75 per cent rebate would be provided.
Two seats would be kept reserved for such I-Card holders in every Volvo/AC bus. In case of web-enabled reservation, the reservation will be made available from any point to any point on the route, he said.
If web-enabled reservation is not available, but after the departure if the bus has a vacant seat, it will preferably be allotted to such I-Card holders, he added.
