The Haryana government today said it has framed guidelines for issuing sports gradation certificates to ensure only eligible sportspersons get government jobs.
Those representing Haryana at the national level or a sportsperson who is a domicile of the state and does not represent any state or Union territory other than Haryana at the national level, would be eligible for the certificate, an official spokesman said here.
The certificate, to be issued for different categories of sports, entitles one to get a government job.
The director of sports and the district sports and youth affairs officer (DSYAO) will jointly be the sanctioning authority of the certificate for all posts under Grade-A and Grade-B, he said.
The spokesman said that the DSYAO will be the sanctioning authority for posts under Grade-C and Group-D under Grade-D.
He said a sports gradation certificate signed by a lower official would be invalid. The sportsperson would have to submit an application on the prescribed form (in duplicate), the spokesman said.
