Hry govt promotes three IPS officers to DGP rank

Haryana Government has promoted three IPS officers of 1988 batch to the rank of Director General of Police (DGP) with immediate effect, an official statement said Thursday.

The officers were holding ADGP rank at present, the statement said.

Prashanta Kumar Agrawal has been posted as DGP, Crime. Sudhir Chowdhary has been posted as DGP, Human Rights and Litigation, it said.

While Manoj Yadava has been granted proforma promotion as he is on central deputation.

Proforma promotion is a procedure followed mainly in the case of an employee who is on deputation to other departments/ministry and has been promoted in the parent department.

Notably, with the promotion of the three IPS officers, the strength of DGP-level officers in the state has gone up to 12.

 

They will be entitled to pay and perks admissible to the state DGP, the statement said.
