Hry govt to sign MoU with Switzerland to boost tourism

The Haryana government will soon sign a Memorandum of Understanding with Switzerland to boost tourism in the state.

A Swiss delegation, who called on State's Tourism Minister Ram Bilas Sharma recently, has shown keen interest in this regard, Sharma said today addressing a function at Bahadurgarh, according to an official release.

Sharma was addressing a function organised on the occasion of 'Haryana Tourism Day' at Gauriyya Tourist Complex, Bahadurgarh.

While congratulating people on Haryana Tourism Day, he said that Tourism department is giving 10 per discount on food and accommodation to the guests visiting any of the tourist complexes of Haryana Tourism and it would be continued upto September 2, 2017.
 

Various competitions were being conducted for students at tourist complexes, he said.

Lauding the initiatives of department, the minister said that Haryana is one of the leading states in terms of highway tourism.

"The department has diversified and expanded the concept of tourism by laying emphasis on farm tourism, golf tourism, heritage tourism and adventure tourism. The department is continuously trying to secure its place at national and international tourism market. To attract maximum tourists, it has launched mobile application for online reservation of rooms," he said.

"The Haryana Tourism Department has 43 tourist complexes having 838 comfortable AC rooms with amenities such as multi-functioning restaurants, bars, convention centers and banquets equipped with modern amenities, conference and multipurpose halls," he said.
