Haryana Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Anil Vij today said the medal winners of Commonwealth Games and other sports events would be honoured at district-level Independence Day functions on August 15.
He said that there would be no better occasion than the Independence Day to honour these sports persons and directions have been issued to make all necessary arrangements.
Vij said that jobs would be provided to about 300 sportspersons under the sports quota.
For this, names would be forwarded to departments concerned which would finalize the recruitment process, he said.
A notification in this regard would soon be issued and advertisement would be released so that each sportsperson could get equal opportunity, the minister said.
