Chinese telecom major Huawei is planning to change the strategy of selling its mobile brand Honor by opting the retail outlet route.

The company launched Honor brand by selling it online only. In India, it has exclusive partnership with e-commerce giant Flipkart.

"Huawei has approached a leading south India based mobile phones retail store, which has few outlets in north India, for selling Honor phones," said an industry source.

Huawei declined to comment on the issue.

Considered fourth largest global smartphone maker, the company is estimated to have sold 500,000 units of Honor devices, which include 200,000 units sold since March, after it expanded its product portfolio from two to six models.
