Huge cache of explosives seized near Pak-Afghan border

Pakistan's paramilitary forces today recovered 1,200 kg of explosives and suicide jackets, part of a huge cache of weapons hidden in a restive tribal area near the Afghan border, a security official said.

A search operation was conducted in the restive Bara area of the Khyber Agency bordering Afghanistan, he said.

The explosive materials and weapons were hidden in caves in the mountainous areas of Khyber Agency, according to Frontier Corps (FC) - a provincial auxiliary force of Pakistan.

Suicide jackets, batteries and rockets, 1,200 kg explosives, 500 IEDs and uniforms of security personnel besides flags of the militant organisation Lashkar-e-Islam were recovered by the forces, the official added.
