Huge free meals hall to be inaugurated at temple

A huge "Annadhana Koodam" (free meals hall) to accomodate about 600 people will be declared open soon at the famous Sri Ranganathaswamy temple at nearby Srirangam , officials said.

The hall is being constructed at a cost of Rs 1.75 crore and the one at present for the purpose could accomodate only 175 people at a time, they said.

Sri Ranganathaswamy temple at Srirangam and Sri Dhandayuthapani temple at Palani are the two temples in the state offering non stop 12-hour free meals to the devotees.
