A huge quantity of ammonium nitrate was seized in a raid conducted in Dumka district, a police officer said today.
Ammonium nitrate is a chemical compound which can also be used as an explosive material.
Acting on a tip-off, a police team conducted raid and recovered 249 sacks of ammonium nitrate (99.5 per cent pure), which was transported in a vehicle at Rasikpur Mohalla under the jurisdiction of Town police station last night, Superintendent of Police, Kishore Kaushal told newsmen.
The SP said two persons have been arrested in this connection.
