Actor Hugh Jackman has confirmed that "The Wolverine 3" would be his final appearance as the character he played in the "X-Men" film franchise.

The 46-year-old Australian actor revealed this information during an interview to Dr Oz, reported Ace Showbiz.

"This will be my last one. It is my last time. It just felt like it was the right time to do it. And let's be honest, 17 years. I never thought in a million years it would last, so I'm so grateful to the fans for the opportunity of playing it.

"I kind of have in my head what we're going to do in this last one. It just feels like this is the perfect way to go out."

It's still unclear whether he will make an appearance in "X-Men: Apocalypse" which is scheduled for a May 27, 2016 release. "The Wolverine 3" will be released in the US on March 3, 2017.
