Hugh Laurie has joined George Clooney in drama miniseries "Catch 22".

The show marks the return of the 58-year-old actor to Hulu, after he starred in the two seasons of the streaming service's "Chance".

Laurie will play Major de Coverley, the squadron executive officer at the Pianosa air base to Clooney's commander Colonel Cathcart, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Ellen Kuras also has joined the miniseries and will produce and direct two episodes. The series is based on Joseph Heller's 1961 novel of the same name.

Set in Italy, the six-part series follows the story of John Yossarian (Christopher Abbott), a US Air Force bombardier who does not like the increasing number of flight missions being assigned. He is angered by a bureaucratic rule, Catch-22, which specifies that being concerned for one's safety is proof of sanity.

Clooney and Grant Heslov are executive producing.

The series marks Clooney's return to television two decades after the hit medical drama, "ER".
