The last rites of former Haryana chief minister Hukam Singh were performed today with full state honours at his native place in Dadri area of the district.
Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, former chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda were among a clutch of leaders present at the occasion.
Later, Khattar announced that the government would set up a memorial in the name of Singh at Dadri and also name an institution after him to honour the memory of the leader.

On the issue of allegations of non-availability of ambulance at PGI in Rohtak to take the ailing Hukam Singh to Gurgaon, the Chief Minister said that information in this regard had been sought from the hospital.
Singh had died after a brief illness in Gurgaon yesterday.
The Chief Minister said that Hukam Singh was a seasoned politician who had served Haryana as Chief Minister in 1990-91.
He had been elected member of the Legislative Assembly for three terms in 1977, 1982 and 1987.
Haryana Finance Minister Capt Abhimanyu, Education Minister Ram Bilas Sharma, Agriculture Minister O P Dhankar, Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Krishan Bedi, MPs Dharambir Singh, Dushyant Chautala and many other dignitaries also paid tributes to the departed leader.
