Humidity level in Delhi touches 98 pc

It was a very humid day in Delhi today with mercury settling at close of 38 degrees Celsius, a day after rains hit the national capital.

The Safdarjung observatory, reading of which is considered as the official figure for the city, recorded a maximum of 37.8 degrees Celsius, one notch below the normal, while the minimum temperature settled at 27 degrees Celsius, also a notch below the season's average, a MeT Department official said.

The humidity level oscillated between 53 and 98 per cent.

The city did not received rainfall between 8.30 AM and 5.30 PM.

According to the weatherman, rainfall is likely during the night.
 

The MeT office has predicted overcast conditions along with the possibility of rains and thunderstorm for tomorrow.

"The skies will be partly cloudy. Rain or thunderstorm is likely to occur in many places towards evening and night."

"The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to hover at 39 and 28 degrees Celsius," it said.

Yesterday, the maximum temperature was recorded at 38.6 degrees Celsius while the minimum temperature settled at 30.5 degrees Celsius.
