'Humiliation, taboo deterring women from filing cases of

Women victims of sexual crimes are not coming out in open to file cases as they have to go through a lot of humiliation, a judge of Punjab and Haryana High Court said today.

"The women victims have to go through sheer humiliation due to which they don't come out in open to narrate case. There are taboos attached to this particular crime against women," said Justice K Kannan during a function on 'crime against women' in Jammu today.

He said that the role of medical and forensic teams would be equally important for the proper investigation, as it can lead to timely justice.
