Hundi collection of Murugan temple nets Rs 2.64 crore

Hundi collections in the last 20 days at the famous hill shrine of Lord Muruga here netted Rs 2.64 crore, officials said today.

Besides cash, the devotees also offered foreign currency, 753 gms of gold and 14,080 gms of silver, temple sources said.

The temple Joint Commissioner Rajamanickam was present when the hundials were opened and the offerings counted on Monday and Tuesday, the sources said.
