Hundreds of school teachers today gheroed residences of six Odisha ministers, including the school and mass education minister Debi Prasad Mishra demanding regularisation of their services.
The teachers, who were assured regularisation of their jobs through a notification, staged a sit-in in front of residences of finance minister Pradip Kumar Amat, panchayati raj minister Arun Sahoo, energy minister Pranab Das, food supplies and consumer welfare minister Sanjay Das Burma and parliamentary affairs minister Bikram Keshari Arukha besides Mishra.
The police has detained around 50 teachers, sources said.

As the state government has made the Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET) mandatory in the modalities to be published, more than 17,000 trained and working Gana Sikshaks would be deprived of getting permanent jobs, the mahasangh alleged.
The agitating teachers said that they would boycott the ensuing three tire panchayt polls if their demands are not fulfilled.
