Condemning the killing of two policemen in Srinagar, Hurriyat Conference India today said Pakistan should desist from such "cowardly acts".
The activists of the newly launched political group, which aims to counter separatist forces of the Valley, protested at Panjtirthi area of the city against the attack on policemen on Saturday. They also burnt an effigy of Pakistan.
"The killing of two policemen in Srinagar is a cowardly act. We warn Pakistan to desist from such activities. They should stop such acts. If they are so much interested in war, let us come face to face," a protestor said, alleging Pakistan-sponsored militancy was behind the attack.
Head constable Mohammed Maqbool and Constable Nazir Ahmed died when terrorists, using silencer-fitted pistols, carried out near simultaneous attacks at Jehangir Chowk and Sarai Bala in Srinagar on June 22.
