"Ahead of the proposed visit to Pakistan, the Hurriyat will hold consultations with every section of the soceity including economic experts, intellectuals, civil society, educationists and lawyers to deliberate on various aspects of the Kashmir issue," Chairman of the separatist amalgam Mirwaiz Umer Farooq said.

Addressing a Friday congregation at Jamia Masjid here, the Hurriyat chairman said the programme will be kick started on November 20 at the amalgam headquarters at Rajbagh.

"As per the Hurriyat decision, the meetings will start on the scheduled date (November 20) so that a broader consensus on the (Kashmir) issue is evolved before the Pakistan visit," Mirwaiz said.

The Hurriyat chairman said due to his preoccupation, he could not attend the ongoing OIC meeting at Djibouti.

However, the Mirwaiz said he has sent a message to the OIC with an appeal to chalk out a composite strategy to seek a solution to outstanding issues including Kashmir on priority.

"The Hurriyat stand on the resolution of Kashmir issue is clear. Unless the 65-year-old issue is resolved in accordance to the wishes and aspirations of divided parts of Kashmir, the uncertainty will loom large in the region," he said.

He said a meaningful dialogue among all the three concerned parties - India, Pakistan and Kashmiris - could be helpful in finding a solution to the issue.
