A man allegedly killed his wife and dumped her body in a well at Goriari village in Bihar's Jamui district, police sources said today.
Body of the woman, identified as Somi Devi (20), was today recovered from the well in Goriari village after the villagers informed the local police station about it, they said.
Somi Devi was killed allegedly by her husband Umesh Sao last night at their house in Untapatthar village and dumped the body in the well in neighbouring village, they said.
She was reportedly being tortured by her husband over dowry ever since the two were married three years ago, police said.
A case has been registered against Sao on charges of murder and dowry, they said, adding raids were being carried out to nab the accused, who was absconding.
