Hyd: Awareness program on EPFO initiatives to be held on Jun 1

The Union Ministry of Labour and Employment will organise an exhibition-cum-awareness programme here on June 1 to update members and employers on the latest initiatives of Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO).

"All members and employers can visit the exhibition to be held at Ravindra Bharati to know on the latest initiatives and achievements of Union Ministry of Labour and Employment," Hyderabad Regional PF Commissioner M Sree Krishna told reporters here today.

Union Minister of State for Labour and Employment Bandaru Dattatreya, Union Minister of State for Minority Affairs, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi and Labour and Employment ministers from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh states--N Narasimha Reddy and Pitani Satyanarayana--respectively will take part in the programme, he said.
 

A separate Zonal Office for Telangana state was created in January this year with eight regional offices and three district offices. There are a total of 37,919 establishments under Telangana zone with 84.97 lakh subscribers, he said.

Among the recent initiatives launched by EPFO for members include simplified single page composite claim form.

"Self-declaration in enough for advances and no supporting documents are required," he said.

Members can prefer their claims online and all claims are to be settled within 10 days and death claims within 7 days and grievances to be redressed within 15 days.

All payments are to be routed through electronic and digital fund transfer system, he said adding Aadhaar seeding of Universal Account Number by mentioning Aadhaar number with bio-metric has also been launched.

Other initiatives include Digital Jeevan Pramaan Patra for life certificates, settlement of PF and pension on the date of retirement to the members, Group Housing scheme through Society for EPF members.

Initiatives launched for employers include OLRE (Online Registration of Establishment) portal, wherein employers can register establishments online and self-certification regarding compliance in case of start-ups for five years, Krishna said.

E-court management system is being introduced and it is a step towards paperless court system of quasi-judicial proceedings, he added.
