Hyd: foundation stone of T-Hub, tech incubation centre, laid

The foundation stone of T-Hub, being touted as country's biggest technology incubation centre, was laid at the International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT-Hyderabad) here today.

The project is expected to become operational on June 2, Telangana Information Technology Minister K Taraka Rama Rao said.

The T-Hub will be the largest centre for start-up and entrepreneurship activities in the country, said the IT, Electronics and Communications Secretary Harpeet Singh.

The Telangana government is funding phase 1 of the T-Hub, with an estimated cost of Rs 35 crore. It will be spread over 60,000 square feet.

By 2020, the next phase would be bigger one with built-up space of 300,000 sq ft, catering to 1,000 start-ups.
 

The fund corpus of T-Hub would be Rs 300 crore by 2017 and Rs 600 crore by 2020.
