Police here today arrested a man for murdering his wife, while a woman with whom he had an affair and who was his accomplice in the crime was absconding.
Eshaiah (40), who worked as watchman, and Tirumalamma, with whom he had an affair prior to his marriage, strangled his wife Saiamma (38) and buried the body about two months ago, said inspector P Ramchander Rao of Narsingi police station.
The police questioned Eshaiah after the wife's relatives approached them as they had not heard from her for two months. Eshaiha broke down during the interrogation and confessed to killing her, the officer said.
The body, buried on a vacant plot of land, was exhumed and sent for autopsy.
"Eshaiah has been arrested and we are looking for Tirmalamma," inspector Rao told PTI.
