Hyderabad sailing week to begin from July 3

The 'Hyderabad Sailing Week', a popular sailing championship where the performance of competitors count for selections for Asiad and Olympic teams, would be held here from July 3 to 8.

The 'Hyderabad Sailing Week - Senior Multi Class Sailing Championship-2017' would be held at the Hussain Sagar lake here.

"We will be having a multi-class championship. More than 200 participants are going take part. Whoever does well is going to be selected for Asiad and Olympic teams," Maj Gen Paramjit Singh, Vice Commodore, EME Sailing Association, told reporters today.

"The Hyderabad sailing event is the biggest and most successful and professionally conducted event in the country," he said.
 

It is jointly organised by the EME Sailing Association, the Secunderabad Club and Laser Class Association of India.

The event would be held in eight sections, including five Olympic class categories.
