IdentCity, a Hyderabad-based start-up in destination and city marketing space, today said it will set up an institute that will focus on designing and organising different kinds of conferences.

'Meetings Design Institute' will be set up here in association with MindMeeting, a Netherlands-based company, in the coming six months, it said.

The institute would focus on imparting education on organising workshops and undertaking assignments. It will either be attached to a business school or function as an independent organisation, Vishala Vuyyala, Founder Director of IdentCity, told reporters here.

Prior to that, IdentCity will host 'meeting design workshop' as a pilot, she said.

The workshop will be held at Indian School of Business (ISB), Hyderabad on February 12 and 13 followed by in Delhi and Mumbai later, she said.

In modern day business environment, meetings mean discussion on economic impact, collaborations, jobs, growth, innovation and results, Vuyyala explained.

The workshop will help in understanding the processes involved in a meeting and how to influence these processes, she said.

It is targeted at meeting planners, conference organisers, event managers, convention sales managers, PR/advertising professionals, event/conference service providers and tourism professionals, among others, she added.

As per International Congress & Convention Association (ICCA) statistics, 4,00,000 conferences and exhibitions are held worldwide every year at an outlay of USD 280 billion, of which India's share is at USD 4.8 billion, she added.
