Delta Corp chairman Jaydev Mody today justified his acquisition ofa majority stake in FC Goa football club, claiming that he is "as Goan" as anybody else.
"I am as Goan as anybody else. I have been living here for 35 years. I have my business here," Mody told reporters today.
After Mody bought the 65 per cent stake, earlier jointly held by Dattaraj Salgaocar and Shrinivas Dempo in the FC Goa football team which is part of the Indian Super League, some MLAs had demanded that only Goans should own stake in the FC Goa team.

Mody said entire Goa is a stakeholder in the club.
"The club is 100 per cent of Goans," he said, adding that he would never mix with his casino business in Goa with the club.
Mody's group runs three offshore casino vessels in the coastal state.
