Actor Ranvir Shorey feels he is no expert on parenting in real life, but says one should not be tough while dealing with kids.
Ranvir has a four-year-old son - Haroon, with actress Konkona Sen Sharma. The couple recently announced their separation.
"I am no expert on parenting. My son is four-year-old, so I am fresh father. Since, I have become a parent.. I feel if you sit down and get through your child and use one's understanding to teach them something.. Is the easiest way," Ranvir told PTI.

The 43-year-old actor, who enjoys a fair share of both critically-acclaimed and hit commercial films, says corporal punishment is most "flawed" form of teaching to children.
"I think corporal punishment is the shortest, most impatient, flawed way of teaching or making a child understand something. If you hit a child, he or she will not learn anything," he added.
Even as a child, Ranvir said, he used get thrashed by his brothers.
"I had two elder brothers and they would thrash me if I do something wrong, then dad would thrash me. I think corporal punishment as disciplining the child is what I am questioning.. I feel there are less flawed methods."
