Oscar-winning director Robert Redford, who celebrated his 79th birthday, has revealed he has no plans of retiring.

The esteemed actor-director brushed aside the idea of retirement at a press day for his latest film, "A Walk in the Woods", reported People magazine.

When asked if he planned to quit working, Redford responded, "Don't look back and don't stop."

"A Walk in the Woods", based on the popular memoir of the same name by Bill Bryson, pairs Redford and Nick Nolte as two old close friends who try to rekindle their friendship with a hike up the Appalachian Trail.

Both actors appeared at the event, sharing about their love for nature, though admitting that actually attempting such a hike would be a challenge.

"A Walk in the Woods", which also stars Mary Steenburgen, Kristen Schaal and Emma Thompson, hits theatres on September 2.
