Sources said the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) had earlier given its report on matters related to FM Radio Phase III expansion, which an inter-ministerial group was studying.
The recommendations of the group would be forwarded to the empowered GoM for further deliberations, the sources said.
They said the Ministry is also examining whether the present policy related to imposition of duties on imported set-top boxes was affecting competitiveness of the domestic industry.
The Ministry is learnt to be keen that Indian manufacturers should also benefit from the government's digitisation drive.
