Actor Leslie Grantham has expressed interest in taking on a role on hit TV show 'Coronation Street'.

The 67-year-old actor, known for playing 'EastEnders' villain 'Dirty' Den Watts, said that he would consider appearing on the ITV soap, having previously turned down a part in the 1980s, reported Digital Spy.

"Since I left 'EastEnders', I have been doing lots of theatre. It would be nice to go back into TV - people like me in this country, I think," he said.

"I would like to go into Corrie but I've been Den for so long. It's difficult to get in now if you are well-known in another soap. I know Michelle Collins went into Corrie but I'll always be known as Dirty Den," he added.
