I-Day: 29 CISF personnel awarded medals

Twenty-nine CISF officials have been decorated with the President's police medals for distinguished and meritorious service on the eve of Independence Day.

The awardees of the distinguished service medal include Inspector General (South sector) Anand Mohan and Deputy IG S S Sandhu, posted at the force headquarters here.

Mohan, an AGMUT-cadre IPS officer of the 1994-batch, joined the CISF in 2013 on deputation from the Delhi Police.

In the national capital, Mohan started his career as the Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) of Connaught Place area and subsequently served as the Deputy CP (DCP) in the New Delhi range, the prime minister's security and others.
 

Among the meritorious service medal recipients are DIG A Yamini Priya and Senior Commandant Deepak Agarwal, both posted at the headquarters.

Four personnel were awarded the fire service medal.

The 1.80-lakh personnel strong Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) is tasked with securing major civil airports and vital installations in the nuclear and aerospace domain in the country, among others.
