I-Day: Gurgaon admin imposes ban on flying drones

With a view to maintain law and order and prevent any untoward incident ahead of Independence Day, the Gurgaon administration today imposed a complete ban on flying of drones and gliders in the district from August 10 to 16.

The ban had been imposed under Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 to prevent their misuse by terrorists and anti-social elements, Gurgaon District Magistrate T L Satyaprakash said.

He said directions has also been issued to furnish information regarding the sale or purchase of old vehicles, especially Ambassador cars.

Details such as name, identity and complete address of sellers and purchasers would be obtained, he said.
 

Police authorities have also been asked to be well-prepared and equipped to face and handle any unforeseen incident and thwart any unpleasant situation, Satyaprakash said.

Action, under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code, would be initiated for non-compliance of the order, he added.
