Sixteen Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) officials have been awarded police medals, including two for gallantry, on the eve of the Independence day here.
The tally for gallant actions is led by Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Raja Babu Singh who was instrumental in the elimination of the bandit gang of Ramu Tomar in the dacoit affected Bhind district of Madhya Pradesh in 2006 as the Superintendent of Police.
Singh is currently posted in the headquarters of the paramilitary force here and has been decorated with the Police Medal for Gallantry (PMG).
