With rappers like Badshah and Yo Yo Honey Singh gaining a lot of prominence in Bollywood, rapper Raftaar says he does not fear competition as they all three have their own space and listeners.

"There is a lot of space for everyone be it Yo Yo Honey Singh or Badshah or me as there are a lot of listeners. I don't fear competition. Competition is there in every field and it's healthy to have one.

"People choose to listen to what they like. I believe one should be real and not try to change every time to grab attention as that doesn't work," Raftaar told PTI.

Raftaar says the way people are accepting and enjoying the rap genre is "unbelievable".

"In the West rap started in the early 1960s and 1970s people have been listening to it since then. We have started hip hop and Rap since last few years and then there was a lull again we are back with it.

"Today the amount of love and respect we are getting is insane as compared to what Baba Sehgal, Hard Kaur and others used to get back then. It's all unbelievable today. The new generation of people are listening to us and we are building stuff for the coming generation," he says.

Raftaar has collaborated with sisters Tulsi Kumar and Khushali Kumar for a new single "Mera Highway Star", composed by Sanjay Rajee. The trio have come out with the teaser of their song today and the video will be released tomorrow.
