BJP national general secretary Varun Gandhi said he does not want to indulge in politics of caste or religion and wishes to establish a new kind of politics in Uttar Pradesh.

"I do not indulge in politics of caste or religion. These elections are important to me as I want to set up a new kind of politics in UP," said Varun, who is party candidate from Sultanpur Lok Sabha seat.

He was addressing a public meeting here last night.

Varun claimed there is a lack of leadership here and he would want to do all that it takes to develop this "backward" area.

The BJP leader also said he aims at making people a part of decision making process here.

"I don't link elections with honour and pride... I also don't want you to look at me as a leader.. I have come to you as a son and brother," Varun Gandhi said.

"We have to start a new politics in days to come and I want to give a new identity to Sultanpur and people should recognise it as Varun's Sultanpur," he said, adding, that he wanted to spend three days every month here to solve peoples problems.
