Although Guillermo del Toro is interested in a sequel, the filmmaker says 'Hellboy 3' is not happening.
The 49-year-old famed director said the sci-fi superhero film won't have another installment as it has no studio backing, reported Variety online.
"Creatively, I would love to make it. Creatively. But it is proven almost impossible to finance. Not from my side, but from the studio side. If I was a multimillionaire, I would finance it myself, but I spend all my money on rubber monsters," he said.

Del Toro even had a plot in mind for the closer to the franchise. The pic would follow our favorite superhero demon as he finally became the beast of the Apocalypse.
"Well, you know, we don't have that movie on the horizon, but the idea for it was to have Hellboy finally come to terms with the fact that his destiny, his inevitable destiny, is to become the beast of the Apocalypse...," he said.
Del Toro is currently keeping busy with a 'Pacific Rim' sequel, his thriller 'Crimson Peak' and new FX show 'The Strain', which premieres this Sunday.
