Largely missing from the screen
for past couple of years, actor-fashion designer-tv presenter Mandira Bedi says she doesnot find the offers exciting any more.
"People really don't know where to slot me, I can't be someone's bhabi or sister," Mandira told PTI here about the roles she mostly gets these days.
Mandira, who had recently showcased her designer robes in Lakme Fashion Week, was in the city to launch her exclusive 'Label Mandira Bedi' line of sarees.
"With my baby coming to our life I stopped having 'me time'. There is 'other's time' and 'lean time' but no 'me time'," Mandira said on the sidelines of the launch of the first lifestyle-based-concept store Avoire in Kolkata where thye sarees will be avialble.
"If at all I squeeze me-time I will drive my husband crazy by calling him repeatedly. I will ask him to rush home to be with us - me and our baby," Mandira, who had married industrialist Raj Kaushal, said in a lighter vein.
"As I enjoy the most blissful state of life, motherhood, I can feel more connected to my mom who strutted the ramp as showstopper in Lakme Fashion Week where I forayed as a designer. If there is a beautiful film on motherhood, dwelling on young mothers like me and our parents, I am okay with that."
Coming to the Lakme show, Mandira said, "In real sense it was not me but my mom who was the showstopper. As daughters we are always proud of our mothers".
Mandira, who had been made the brand ambassador and face of Satya Paul's cricket signature line of sarees earlier, confirmed she loves to dabble in bright colors as a designer.
The Shanti star, who had also appeared in a supporting role in Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, said
"After the telly show 24 on Colors last year I again started getting offers. But with baby Veer taking my time I can only give a couple of months for shooting," the judge in Gangs of Haseepur said.
