Legendary Pakistani singer Attaullah Khan is looking forward to his first public performance in India at a mega concert today.

The 62-year-old Pakistani Pride of Performance award winner, will perform some of his famous songs in '"Ibaadat" Mehfil-e-Ruhaaniyat', which will be held at Purana Quila here.

"I do not know how to react. I am performing for the first time in India... In front of such a huge crowd. I feel very fortunate to have this opportunity. Although I have performed here before, they were mostly private functions. This will be my first public performance and I am very excited about it," he said.

The event is being organised by Aas, which is an NGO, to support Cervical Cancer Awareness in India. The main focus for organising the concert is to spread awareness about prevention and detection of cervical cancer among the masses.

Khan said that 'Ibaadat' means making Allah happy and being humble.

"'Ibaadat' means to be humble before Allah... Do something good for mankind and those who think about others. People may belong to different countries, but everyone is same in Allah's eye. Mankind is one of Allah's beautiful creations and those who are humble, make Allah happy," said the veteran singer, who is also known as 'Lala'.

Khan also said that he chose to support the issue of cervical cancer awareness because it was the first time anyone had approached him for a good cause.

The singer, who will be sharing the stage with Indian Sufi singer Harshdeep Kaur, said that if he gets an opportunity, he would like to collaborate with artists from here.

"If I get a chance, then I will look forward to it. I think all the artists are talented and I'll be happy to work with any of them," he added.
