Former "Mad Men" actress Elizabeth Moss reveals she has been paid less than her male co-stars.

The actress, who played Peggy Olsen on "Mad Men", said she has been subjected to sexism a lot of times in Hollywood, reported Female First.

"Have I experienced sexism like Peggy did in the 1960s? Of course not. But have there been times when I haven't made as much as a man? I'm sure. And it's a factual thing, not a matter of opinion. That's sexist."

The 33-year-old actress is currently working on a potential TV adaptation of a book, which she plans to produce herself, and has been shocked that studios have passed on the project because it has a female protagonist.

"I don't want to jinx it or talk about it in case it doesn't happen. It's not modern, I can say that and it's a story I am shocked has never been done before. When pitching it, more than one place said it was 'too female'. And I remember saying to my producing partner and our director, 'Is that legal?'

"It's inane and archaic and I can't believe people are still getting away with saying that.
