Press Trust of India Shimla
Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today asserted that his government is not "weak" and he enjoys "full majority".

Rubbishing the reports that there was a "strength show" in Congress in the wake of recent happenings and some MLAs went to the Governor to greet her on her birthday, he said it did not mean the show of strength.

"If some MLAs went to the Governor to greet her on her birthday, it did not mean show of strength as the entire CLP can not go together," he said.

Flanked by Cabinet Ministers Vidya Stokes, G S Bali, Mukesh Agnihotri and Sudhir Sharma and other MLAs, Singh said he did not think that any Congress faction has hand in framing of cases against him.

"(However) It is possible that some Congressmen may be overjoyed but if wishes were horses, beggars would ride," he added.

Singh said he had faced such situation many times in the past and during his both the terms, former chief minister P K Dhumal used every tactic to target him by fabricating cases.

"But I came out clean every time because I had done nothing wrong. It is all politically motivated and everyone knows who had come forward in elections against me. I will contest the case in the court," he said.

He said that Dhumal was trying to divert the attention of people from serious cases registered against him and his son Anurag Thakur by stepping up attack against him.

Singh said the BJP was unnecessarily trying to draw inferences from the issue in Delhi High Court.

"It is the statement of the public prosecutor and the High Court has not taken note of it. The High Court has said the CBI and IT department should submit their final report within one week," he said.

Singh said the government was fully prepared to counter the propaganda by the BJP.

"But if they resort to extra constitutional methods, then it will not be tolerated," he said.
