Seeking to spike speculation that he has resentment over selection of V M Sudheeran as new Kerala PCC President, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy today said he has "a very good relation" with him.
"I have many years of association with Sudheeran and media reports that I am not co-operating with Sudheeran is not based on facts", he told reporters after a special Cabinet meeting here.
"It is Congress high command decision and it is not always necessary for the high command to accept the suggestions of me or Ramesh Chennithala, former KPCC Chief," Chandy said when asked whether high command choice was different from that of his recommendation.

"Coming election is politically significant for the state and also for the nation. We are fully aware of it," he said.
Congress in the state would put up a very good performance, he said.
The absence of Chandy when Sudheeran took charge as Kerala PCC president at the party headquarters here had fuelled speculation about his resentment over the choice of the state party unit chief by the high command.
Chandy, however, had rushed to the party headquarters soon after Sudheeran assumed charge and explained that he was held up in the office with some "pressing work", which could not be deferred.
