The 37-year-old "Rock of Ages" star, whose divorce from Katy Perry will finalise in a couple of weeks, said the meditation has helped him through his break up because it has allowed him to reach a higher consciousness, reported Sun online.
"I try not to compartmentalise things too much into years, but generally speaking I'm happier than I've ever been in my life. Of course I went through a divorce which isn't good for anybody, but that was that bit of time - that was really lovely - this is this bit of time - this is really lovely.
"I'm dedicating myself to all sorts of interesting things you know. Transcendental meditation, kundalini yoga, these things are right good for the old spirit," he said.
Brand said he treats his career like a hobby and he relies on his mother as his barometer.
"I think people take this business too seriously. It's like a hobby that I get money for. I've done other jobs and they're much, much harder.
"All that matters is I'm honest and I care about it and do it in a loving way. If I can think my mum can look at me and she's proud of me then I'm doing alright," he added.
