The 27-year-old singer says she will take a break from the end of next month, reported Daily Mirror.
"I need to let my heart heal," she said.
Perry spent much of her 14-month marriage on her world tour and has hinted that her career was one of the causes for the split.
"For a modern woman, it is important to be supported and that there is equality in every aspect," she said.
The brunette beauty was unsure if she wanted to open up about her marital troubles in her upcoming documentary "Katy Perry: Part of Me" but ultimately wanted to be honest about her life.
"The whole movie is about overcoming obstacles, overcoming my family, my set of rules and belief systems."
