Actor Liam Hemsworth prefers to keep his personal life away from the spotlight.

The 26-year-old "Hunger Games" star said he doesn't like to make a spectacle out of his private life, reported Female First.

"I just want people to be respectful of my privacy. I don't go out of my way to attract that kind of attention, or feel I owe anyone a show and tell. Some don't mind, but I like to keep my personal life apart and keep the noise at bay.

"That sort of attention eats away at you at first. I read things people made up, or horrible things that are really alienating. But the thing is, if you read that one negative thing among the 100 positives, you have to remind yourself everyone else on the planet is thinking about their own stuff," Hemsworth said.

The Australian actor enjoys coming back to home to meet his friends as they keep him grounded.

You know what I love about going back to Phillip Island and hanging out with my old friends? They're not impressed by it all; they're oblivious to most of it. They've seen some of the movies I've done, but no one treats me differently. It's, 'Oh yeah, mate, that was good. Wanna go for a surf?'," he said.
