Pop star Lady Gaga has responded to Britney Spears' call for the pair to duet, saying "it's time" for them to collaborate.

The singer tweeted her fellow US star saying the time is right for them to collaborate, after the 'Work Bitch' hitmaker said she wanted to record a song with Gaga.

During a live fan chat to promote her new album, 'Britney Jean', the star said, "I would do a duet with Lady Gaga. I think that would be a lot of fun. I think she's very different and interesting and intricate."

Responding to the answer, Gaga later tweeted 32-year-old saying, "Britney Spears lets do it, its time.

Gaga previously teamed up with fellow US diva Beyonce on the 2010 hit 'Telephone' but the pair ended up falling out after the 'Single Ladies' hitmaker called her a "selfish egomaniac".
