Actress Brooke Shields says she was sharp like a shark since her childhood.
The 49-year-old actress feels children have the sharpest instincts as they generally are wary of adults, reported Guardian online.
"They tend to be wary of adults they don't feel comfortable with. I can tell whether someone is genuine immediately and I've been able to do that from a very young age - I was like a little shark sensing blood in the water," she said.
Shields also revealed that her alcoholic mother kept her attentive as a child.
"My mother's alcoholism kept me on the straight and narrow throughout my childhood and teen years. I was a caretaker to a drinker. I didn't have time to consider going off the rails myself - all I wanted to do was to get A's in school and keep my mum alive," she added.
